Our stand-out 2017 in Review

It was a remarkable year for JVW, with our club teams winning leagues, Schools league growing bigger and National Team Call ups. We take a look back to 2017 and share with you some of our Stand Out Moments:

1. ‘Vets’ win ELFA League.
The JVW Vets Team is made up of experienced players, with some having previously played in earlier editions of the SASOL League. This team went on to win the Eastern Local FA Ladies league in the 2016/17 season.

2. Seven Representatives attended a coaching course.
JVW coaches, managers and players attended the @SAFA_net D License course together with the @KNVB coaching course hosted by @SAFA_net , #RCLFA , @forwardzone and @worldcoaches

3. JVW FC announce headline Sponsor.

http://Carfind.co.za showed a great amount of interest and believed in JVW’s vision which resulted in their full support of the development of women’s football and became the First ever Headline Sponsor of the club.

4. Janine van Wyk becomes first South African to play in the NWSL.
JVW founder, @Janinevanwyk5 signed for US-Based @HoustonDash and played in the National Women’s Soccer league in 2017 after a successful run in 2016

5. JVW Juniors finish as Runners up in ELFA Cup Competition.
The JVW Junior team finished as runners up in the Eastern Local FA Ladies league Cup Competition in the 2016/17 season.

6. MITRE SA become Official Ball and Equipment sponsor of JVW FC.
JVW FC partnered with Mitre SA as their first official club ball and training equipment sponsor in 2017. #jvwfc

7. JVW host referee course.
Six JVW players attended their level 1 referee course hosted by Derek Hanson under the auspices of ELFA

8. JVW Seniors take home the double.
The Senior team won both the league and cup in the 2017 Ladies DSL league. #jvwfc

9. JVW Project Manager receives award.
Lauren Duncan was awarded the Public Vote for Woman of the Year at the annual @gsport4girls Awards for her contribution to women’s football

10. JVW Girls Football Development hosted the KZN Schools Select Teams.
A few months back the KZN Ladies Schools Select teams toured to Gauteng and were treated to a coaching clinic run by Former and Current Banyana Banyana and JVW Coaches as well as a two day tournament which took place at Benoni Northerns FC.

11. GIRL POWER ->
JVW featured in the Kick Off Mag The JVW Schools League program was in review in the September issue of the @KickOffMagazine – Thank you for highlighting our work

12. Girls High School League a success. The JVW Girls school league hosted 3000 players in Gauteng, with 147 School teams participating between U15, U17 and Open age groups. The league was formed in 2012, with 12 school teams participating. Edenvale High wom both the U15 and Open Divisions, with Hoerskool Vorentoe High School winning the U17 League.

13. 11 JVW FC players and @janinevanwyk5 selected to the @Safa_net National Teams in U17, U20 and Senior Team @banyana_banyana in 2017 respectively. Wade, Christedis, Nunes, Goncalves, Maponya, Motlhalo, Joss, Salgado Dlamini, Nyandeni, Tsawe.
