JVW FORWARD ALBUQUERQUE TO MISS REMAINDER OF THE SEASON

In any team and in any sport it’s tough seeing a player side lined due to injury.

It’s tough on their teammates, on team staff and of course the player and their family too.

Indira is one of the most exceptional people you’ll have the pleasure of meeting should you make her acquaintance. A very happy and bright individual, she brings with her a young vibrant spirit to the team, a vibrancy that not only lifts but motivates her peers to do their best at all times too. Having received the phone call to give the news of her injury my heart sank for her. It was one of those conversations coaches hate having. I could hear the pain in her voice recounting the moments before, during and after the incident. A seemingly innocuous movement turned tragedy.

From the outset the injury sounded extensive, but a full diagnosis had to be done and after the relevant scans the official prognosis was that Indira would be out of action for an extended period of time and required reconstructive surgery to her knee.

Fast forward a few months and here we are post surgery. Indira has officially commenced rehab on her knee, and while the road to recovery is a long one, it is lined with support from her teammates, friends and family alike. A true showing of Indira’s wonderful character is the outpouring of love and support she has received thus far.

For the First Team her progress is a gift and a reminder that in the not too distant future we will have our number 2 back on the pitch doing what she does best.
