The Schools league runs from April through to October each year. The League started with a mere 12 teams playing solely in the Ekurhuleni Region, and split into U15 and Open Age Groups. The league has successfully doubled and trebled in size. Currently the Schools League hosts 147 teams, participating in U15, U17 and Open Age Groups, with a total of around 2900 girls actively participating in the sport at School level in Gauteng. Players also now have the opportunity of being scouted from their school teams into club structures to further their sporting careers.
Finishing the league off with a Playoff Knockout Tournament, Schools battle it out to be crowned Overall Winners of the JVW Girls School League.
